The primary responsibility of this position is to accurately scan and label items, physically process customer packages, and ensure they are correctly tracked in the inventory management system. The agent is also responsible for maintaining precise and efficient workflows to ensure items are ready for shipping and delivery to customers.WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK AS A FREIGHT AGENTResponsible for the manual loading and unloading of cargoOperate handheld barcode scanners to scan incoming and outgoing packagesVerify product information by scanning item barcodes and checking for accuracyLabel packages as required to ensure proper shipmentMaintain high accuracy in scanning to minimize errors in shipment and receiptsMove packages to the correct locations within the warehouseWork collaboratively with team members to meet daily scanning and packing goalsFollow safety protocols and standard operating procedures in a fast-paced environmentReport any discrepancies or issues to leadershipInspect and communicate on damaged packages to leadershipEnsure proper handling and storage of cargo in accordance with safety regulationsEnsure proper documentation is applied to the correct freightParticipate in training programs on freight handling, safety, and complianceMaintain a clean and organized work environment in freight handling areasAttention to detailBrings their “A” game every day with energy and enthusiasm, respect for their team, and the highest regard for safetyMay be assigned to other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS18 years of age or olderEligible to work in the United StatesWarehouse or inventory management experience is a plusAbility to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documentsAbility to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile DevicesEffectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic meansPass a background check and drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts that change every 3-4 months including nights, weekends and holidaysTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
