As a Ground Technician, you will take on more a specialized role in managing outdoor maintenance tasks, including operating equipment and handling more technical aspects of grounds care.
As a Grounds Worker, you will support the grounds maintenance team by performing general landscaping duties.
Key Responsibilities:
For Grounds Technicians:
Operate and maintain a variety of grounds equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and small machinery.
Perform specialized tasks such as irrigation system maintenance, pest control, and fertilization.
Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers safely and according to established guidelines.
Conduct regular assessments of grounds to identify maintenance needs and address issues related to soil health, plant health, and overall appearance.
For Grounds Workers:
Perform general landscaping duties, including mowing, edging, trimming, and leaf blowing.
Assist in planting, watering, and maintaining flower beds, shrubs, trees, and grass areas.
Perform seasonal tasks such as mulching, weeding, and cleaning up outdoor spaces.
Maintain and clean outdoor structures like fences, walkways, and parking areas.
Remove trash and debris from outdoor areas to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment.
Qualifications:
For Grounds Technicians:
High School Diploma or GED
1+ years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related technical field.
Knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment and techniques, including irrigation, pest control, and fertilization.
Ability to identify and troubleshoot grounds-related issues and perform preventative maintenance.
