A Brief Overview

Work closely with Business Development Team leaders and Client Account Team members within U.S. Individual Life to strategize, plan and implement business development activities to support client business goals/objectives as well as solve for pain points while helping win more business and driving revenue the growth for RGA. Communicate, collaborate and ensure timely, accurate and efficient service and follow up to external and internal clients. Additional responsibilities range from performing reinsurance/administrative support activities to developing the skills necessary to eventually take on a Business Development position.

What you will do

  • Support multiple projects contributing to the growth and success of RGA
  • Under supervision, support Business Development leaders with research of existing and prospective clients, including but not limited to: review of annual statements / financial statements and coordination on timing of quarterly earnings calls / investor day presentations, reinsurance treaty execution, and organization of Client Account Team meetings / client meetings as needed
  • Attend client calls with Vice President, Business Development or Executive Director, Business Development's, as needed, as a subject matter expert for RGA products and/or value add services
  • Identify, document and ensure timely follow-through on items resulting from interactions with the client and internal meetings
  • Work as a liaison between Business Development and Client Marketing Services to coordinate presentations and pre-visit materials for use during client meetings
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of key internal associates and teams as well as external clients in order to provide effective coordination and execution of communications and activities
  • Manage a variety of high-level, confidential and sensitive activities on behalf of Business Development team leaders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Marketing, Business/Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience required
  • 5+ Years insurance/ reinsurance experience, or equivalent work experience required
  • Project management or coordination experience required
  • Demonstrated success in business development/sales or distribution within an insurance or reinsurance company preferred
  • Prior life insurance/reinsurance experience in 1 or more of the following areas: Business Development / Sales, Distribution, Marketing, Life Products/Actuarial or Underwriting preferred
  • Understanding of the Life insurance and Reinsurance industry - Advanced Proficiency required
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, sales and business development - Intermediate Proficiency required
  • Ability to balance detail with high-level departmental goals/objectives - Advanced Proficiency required
  • Oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well-received - Advanced Proficiency required
  • Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, client activities and projects simultaneously; can appropriately balance priorities, deliverables and deadlines - Advanced Proficiency required
  • Ability to liaise and build relationships with individuals across various operational, functional and technical disciplines - Intermediate Proficiency required
  • Ability to work independently as well within a team environment and participate in team projects - Advanced Proficiency required
  • Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions - Advanced Intermediate Proficiency required
  • Ability to foster customer service as needed - Intermediate Proficiency required
  • Ability to demonstrate investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills - Advanced Proficiency required
  • Microsoft Office skills - Intermediate Proficiency required

Compensation Range:

$87,050.00 - $131,450.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
