Position Summary:
The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the company's operations, ensuring profitability, efficiency, and a strong safety and service culture. This individual will be responsible for strategic planning, operational leadership, personnel management, and ensuring customer satisfaction across all commercial roofing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
• Oversee daily operations of commercial roofing projects from inception to completion.
• Ensure project timelines, budgets, and safety standards are consistently met or exceeded.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA and industry regulations.
Team Management:
• Lead and manage field crews, project managers, estimators, and office staff.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate employees to ensure performance and productivity.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Business Development & Client Relations:
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.
• Oversee the bidding and estimating process to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Identify new business opportunities and work with the sales team to grow revenue.
Financial Oversight:
• Develop and manage operational budgets and forecasts.
• Track project costs and ensure profitability targets are achieved.
• Review and approve purchasing, subcontracting, and payroll activities.
Strategic Planning:
• Collaborate with ownership to set goals and growth strategies.
• Analyze industry trends and market conditions to adjust business plans.
• Implement systems and processes to support scalable growth.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in commercial roofing, construction management, or a related field.
• 3+ years in a leadership or general management role.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and safety standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with construction software
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience preferred.
Work Environment:
• Combination of office and field work.
• Occasional travel to job sites and client meetings.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions as needed.
