The Instructor is a member of the ranked faculty whose duties require effectiveness in teaching, a commitment to staying current with their discipline and appropriate pedagogies, and a willingness to serve the academic unit, college and/or University. The Instructors teaching responsibilities are assigned by the academic department head and may include serving as an academic advisor. Effective January 1 2007, the Instructor rank is a tenure-track appointment only for faculty appointed by the two-year open admissions campus at West Plains and the Greenwood Laboratory School.
