Overview

Executive Director Supply Chain with HealthTrust Performance Group, Springfield, MO. This role leads daily operations across designated Mercy Communities, driving process improvement aligned with Unified Supply Chain goals and ensuring policy implementation, performance assessment, and team development in collaboration with ROi Senior Leadership, Mercy Strategic Supply Chain, and facility leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all areas of supply chain within designated communities, including procurement, receiving, order fulfillment, inventory management, courier services, record storage and retrieval, and equipment management.
  • Act as liaison to ambulatory clinics and inpatient facilities regarding supply chain management.
  • Ensure supply chain activities meet or exceed quality, service, and cost requirements.
  • Communicate and implement goals and objectives for operations of reporting.
  • Manage sourcing and contracting initiatives from conception to completion, leveraging internal and external contacts for effective financial stewardship and responsive customer service.
  • Collaborate with department leaders, physician leaders, clinicians, hospital senior management, and supply chain staff to create competitive sourcing environments.
  • Leads time-limited and standing teams to identify opportunities for strategic sourcing and contracting in major spend categories.
  • Identify and develop cost-reduction ideas and initiatives; evaluate implementation approaches.
  • Engage suppliers and operational staff to resolve service and delivery issues timely.
  • Assemble and present business cases with data analysis, supplier capabilities, market data, and business requirements.
  • Measure contract compliance, monitor savings opportunities and supplier performance; report statistics to department and senior leaders.
  • Participate in value analysis teams and department meetings, representing supply chain and promoting best practices.
  • Advise departments on contractual agreements with suppliers; review procurement policies and procedures for improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to the Mercy Health Code of Conduct and Ethics Standard and related policies.
  • Execute the facility infrastructure plan for supply chain standardization, master file standardization, online requisitioning, and EDI.
  • Manage the profit and loss of facility Supply Chain operations and disaster preparedness for facilities.
  • Facilitate market-based purchasing projects and implement point-of-use systems.
  • Oversee Inventory Optimization Managers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain, healthcare-related focus required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of healthcare supply chain management experience
  • 7+ years in a leadership role
  • External knowledge of healthcare group purchasing market influences required
  • Understanding of current supply chain trends in healthcare required
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., LEAN, Six Sigma) preferred
