The Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) is responsible for managing an assigned territory focused on supporting Reimbursement and Patient services by providing assistance with patient reimbursement challenges for a specific drug, educating the office on payer landscape and services available, and delivering both remote and on-site training. This position is client-facing and requires the ability to build relationships with physician offices as well as manufacturer representatives to effectively deliver services based on customer preferences. The FRM works independently in a fast-paced, highly visible environment and collaborates with internal program hub support services to meet customer needs. The FRM will frequently interact via telephone with providers and internal staff to arrange site visits, manufacturer trainings, and educational training venues. A solid working knowledge of Medicare and Commercial insurance plans and benefit structures is required. Travel, project management, and/or account coordination may be needed based on client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site and on-demand education for the office staff regarding Reimbursement challenges and available support services, including Lunch and Learns or Dinner presentations. On-site/virtual interactions average about 15 per week. All activities are tracked in FRM CRM with weekly reporting to management.
- Educate on Benefit Investigation, Prior Authorization, Support Center Services, Medicare and Commercial coverage, and patient communication streams. Monthly activity reporting includes educational topics at FRM level; quarterly client reporting of trending data.
- Provide reimbursement support on case management, billing and coding updates, claims submission, specialty pharmacy, medical benefit interpretation, understanding medical necessity, and appeals; co-pay and patient assistance information as needed. Collaborate with a case manager on average 4/month with escalations as needed. Interactions are tracked in FRM CRM and hub systems.
- Set up appointments and complete outbound calls to targeted offices; assist in backlog casework; interface with physicians and manufacturer representatives to obtain and provide patient and provider information. All FRM interactions are tracked in FRM CRM and reported to management and clients.
- Monitor program performance for physicians and manufacturers via FRM CRM dashboard; usage includes daily tracking and quarterly trend reporting. Clients may survey program performance.
- Research and compile provider/manufacturer information for reimbursement database; create facility profiles in FRM CRM and build interactions around this database.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of healthcare-related reimbursement experience
Business Experience
- Strong medical reimbursement experience with Buy & Bill and/or Specialty Pharmacy
- Experience supporting oncology products preferred
- Experience in healthcare including insurance verification, prior authorizations, and/or claim adjudication in a physician's office or clinics
- Must have Medicare and commercial insurance coverage experience
- Ability to deliver and document benefit investigation outcomes and report status regularly
- Proven presentation skills and experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills
- Strong computer literacy including PowerPoint and web meeting experience
Specialized Knowledge/Skills
- Previous field experience is a plus
- Previous experience with specialty pharmacy is a plus
- Account management experience is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
Travel and Physical Requirements
- Must reside in territory – Florida
- Must be able to travel up to 80% (4 days a week) by automobile or plane
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record/MVR
- Physical work may include long periods of sitting and keyboard use
