The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Thrift Store Worker to join our team at the Springfield Campbell Store. This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks that support the daily operations of the store while upholding our mission of service to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service in a friendly and professional manner
- Receive, lift, and transport donated and purchased items
- Sort, price, and prepare clothing and other merchandise for sale
- Stock and display items on the sales floor
- Operate the cash register, process transactions, and provide accurate change
- Reconcile the cash drawer at the end of the shift and prepare daily bank deposits

This is a part-time position, 24 hours per week, with starting pay of $13.75 per hour.

Minimum QualificationsHigh school/equivalent diploma and one-year related work experience or two years' work experience without diploma. Ability to comprehend written job description, cleaning instructions and material safety data sheet. Must be able to operate a cash register, make correct change for items sold and be bondable. Position requires basic communications with customers and other employees. Must be a team player, a self-starter, and perform well with minimum supervision.
Physical and Working ConditionsMust be capable of performing the above essential duties. Capable of continuously lifting 5 pounds, frequently lifting 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently moves 50 or more pounds using dolly/cart/truck. Most work will be indoors. The display room is a temperature-controlled environment; however, the sorting/back room/storage area will be cold in the winter and hot in the summer.
