Job Summary

Assembles metal products partially or completely, working at bench or on shop floor by performing the following duties.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or Controlled documents.
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, or other fasteners.
  • Operates drills, hand/air impact wrenches, and hand tools.
  • Produces a completed unit capable of passing final inspection.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment requires the use of earplugs. Workplace safety is a primary concern and it requires employee to maintain good housekeeping.
